Heated-manifold direct-injection die casting, also known as direct-injection die casting or runnerless die casting, is a zinc die casting process where molten zinc is forced through a heated manifold and then through heated mini-nozzles, which lead into the molding cavity. This process has the advantages of lower cost per part, through the reduction of scrap (by the elimination of sprues, gates and runners) and energy conservation, Cast Aluminum Bracket and better surface quality through slower cooling cycles.[11]

Despite the flexibility and advances of plastic injection moulding, there is still a place in the market for magnesium alloy die-casting; particularly in view of the recent progress in architectural led lighting. High wattage leds not only require a carefully considered power system, but the amount of heat Alloy Die Casting generated demands good thermal management for the assembly to ensure longevity of life. With lighting systems becoming increasingly complex, the need for a custom thermal solution can be a huge factor in the solution and the time-scales of the project.

Investment castings is one of the oldest known metalworking processes in existence. Beginning more than 5,000 years ago as "lost wax investment casting" the historical process used bee's wax to form a pattern which was then used to create various components and products.

Fast forward to today, thousands of years later and the science remains the same. However, investment casting foundries all over the world have introduced new innovations such as high-tech waxes, advanced refractory materials, and the many advances made possible by computers and computer aided design.

Investment castings is also known as the lost wax process. This process is one of the oldest manufacturing processes. The Egyptians used it in the time of the Pharaohs to make gold jewelry (hence the name Investment) some 5,000 years ago. Intricate shapes can be made with high accuracy. In addition, metals that are hard to machine or fabricate are good candidates for this process. It can be used to make parts that cannot be produced by normal manufacturing techniques, such as turbine blades that have complex shapes, or airplane parts that have to withstand high temperatures.
